This is the first place we've lived in with real hardwood floors throughout.
Generally, i love them but my entry way [which is just a corner of the living room] is taking a beating this year.
I usually use blue dawn & vinegar on them and once a month wash with Murphy's oil, but i couldn't stand it so i attacked them with vegetable oil to shine the worst spots up and help my obsessiveness about them not being shiny settle.
We do need to get a few door mats, including a big rubber black one with a lip to hold all the water and salt grossness.
Do you do anything different in the winter for your floors?
